WHY STASH STORIES?

Because every stash tells a story.
The skein you brought back from a trip.
The color you once loved.
The sweater you wore through a whole season of your life.
Your stash says something about you. Big or small, bold or neutral, carefully curated or beautifully chaotic.

At Stash Stories, those stories continue.
Yarn that no longer fits your life can find a new home.
Hidden treasures can grow your stash in a way that feels right for where you are now.

Sometimes a stash just needs a new chapter.

Volunteer Booking Page

Absolutely. The Yarn Swap is a community event. There will be other beautiful things to discover and plenty of space to connect.

Only in exceptional cases. Our yarn swap is curated, and we strongly ask all participants to drop off their yarn at one of the official collection dates before the event.

There is a very limited drop-off window on the event day from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. This option is only available with prior registration and pre-approval of your yarn. Space is extremely limited, and we cannot accept unregistered or unapproved yarn on the day.

This collection slot is intended for participants travelling from afar who truly cannot attend a pre-event drop-off. A valid event ticket is required.

No. The yarn we accept for the swap must be unopened and unused, with the original label. This is our most important rule to keep the swap transparent and fair for everyone.

You can bring a maximum of 12 balls or skeins per person. Please select your most beautiful pieces carefully — quality over quantity.

Not newly purchased, but new, yes. We only accept unopened, unused balls or skeins in perfect condition. Started balls, partially knitted skeins, already caked up/wound yarn or leftover yarn from projects cannot be accepted.

Yes. Every skein must have its original label (ball band) intact and undamaged.
Yarn without a label or with a missing/damaged label cannot be accepted, as we need clear information about fiber content and yardage.

We focus on high-quality natural fibers. Yarn should contain no more than approximately 30% acrylic. We do not accept 100% acrylic yarn.

All yarn must be:
• Clean
• Odor-free (no smoke or perfume smell)
• Untangled
• In perfect condition
Heavily tangled, dirty, or strongly scented yarn cannot be accepted.

Our yarn swap is curated to ensure a beautiful, fair experience for everyone. By maintaining clear quality standards, we create a space where all participants feel excited to swap and discover new treasures.

Everything left over will be donated. That way, every skein gets a second chance.

No. Once dropped off, the yarn enters the swap. This ensures everything stays fair and clearly regulated.

Once the yarn has been handed in, it cannot be returned. Please decide consciously before participating.

That depends on the yarn. We evaluate based on a clear system (material, original price, quantity). You’ll receive your tokens directly at drop-off and can later go treasure hunting with them.

No. Tokens are our swap currency and are only issued to people who have dropped off yarn.

Tokens are valid as swap currency on the event day and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Tokens are not personalized and can be gifted to a friend or shared with other visitors at the event if you do not find anything for yourself. Sharing yarn joy is always encouraged.

Please stay home and recover. Tokens are only valid on the event day and cannot be transferred or refunded. Event tickets are non-refundable.

As much as we love dogs, unfortunately they are not allowed at the event.

Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase on site. Cozy swap moments guaranteed.

There will also be yarn and accessories available for purchase. Many like-minded people will be there, making it a beautiful community day.
